Edna Lewis - of Miami died at 9:15 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2003, at Elmview Residential care in Miami after an illness. She was 96. Lewis was born Jan 6, 1907, in Joplin Missouri, to J. Frank Ficke and Lillie Eubanks Ficke. The family moved to Columbus Kansas, in March 1907. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1925 and received a teacher's certificate from Pittsburg Kansas Teachers' College. She lived in Ottawa County since 1925. She was a bookkeeper for Cardin Electric Company, retiring in 1969. She married W. H. Bill' Lewis on Dec 24, 1925, in Miami. He preceded her in death in October 1995.
