Abstract Data

Marvin W. Stephens, Sr. - of Miami died on Friday, Nov 17, 2000, at the Miami Integris Baptist Regional Health Center following an extended illness. He was 82. Mr. Stephens was born in Okemah Oklahoma, on Jul 2, 1918, to William Stephens and Lily Hebbler Stephens. He married Margaret Wheller on Jul 3, 1941 at Shawnee Oklahoma. Mr. Stephens served in the U.S. Military Escort Guard Company during World War II in Europe and Africa. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, he moved his family to South Texas for five years before moving to Miami in 1951 to work for the William Packing Co. In 1970, he and his wife built M & M Custom Slaughtering, west of the Fairgrounds, which he and his wife operated until their retirement. Mr. Stephens is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Stephens. Cooper-Althouse funeral home of Miami. Burial in Glenn Abbey cemetery, east of Miami.
